Cornwall Motor Cross Club Ltd History

Cornwall Scrambles Club as it was first known started in 1970 with members that included Ros Fraser, Allen Jenkins, Kelvin Jenkins and many others who still ride today.

The first committee meetings where held in Ros's workshop at Cosawes Park, the first scramble took place at Porkellis near Helston. After about 4 years noise issues forced the club to find a new venue; Polwyn Farm near Newquay became available and Cornwall Motor Cross Club ran there from the mid 70's to the early 80's. Following Polwyn Farm it was Carland Cross that became the clubs home until the late 90's.

Cornwall Motor Cross Club ran with great help from the Hawkins Family; Supercross for a number of years at Porthpean and St Stephen, raising money for local charities. Some time had passed since Cornwall Motor Cross Club had organized any events, but following a packed meeting in October 2009 the club was reformed as Cornwall Motor Cross Club Ltd with members old and new joining and showing support.

The newly formed committee, along with club members, organised a full calendar for 2010 and have a fast growing membership. Events re-started in February 2010 with a hugely succesful Motocross at Fin's Farm, near Redruth.

Cornwall Motor Cross Club Ltd is now looking forward to the future and providing more quality Motocross events in the Cornwall area for Bikes, Quads & Sidecars. The newly reformed club is eager to obtain new race venues and to resurrect some old ones!

The Club would like to thank Kelvin Jenkins for the Newspaper clippings provided below
Kelvin was a committee member of the original club and remains an active committee member of the reformed club today
